Alltold, 346 passengers and crew were killed. Both planes were new Boeing 737-Maxes. "Downfall: The Case Against Boeing" — which premiered at the virtual Sundance Film Festival — is the riveting, often rending tale of those crashes and the jet that links them.
Thefilm could easily have been called "The case against capitalism". When Boeing merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997, a new management was installed, focused entirely on maximising profits. The new management demanded more work from fewer staff, making tens of thousands of redundancies.
Kennedys documentary, "Downfall: The Case Against Boeing," explores how 346 people lost their lives in two catastrophes as well as the outrage the families of the victims still feel today.
